Our Dentists
Marcus Wilkerson, DDS
Dr. Marcus Wilkerson grew up in Fulton, Missouri. He received his BA in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Marcus continued his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS.
During dental school, he worked in the Special Patient Care Clinic and several outreach clinics and was a National Health Services Corps Scholar. Upon graduation, he established a Federally Qualified Health Center in the Ozarks of Southern Missouri.
After several years of practicing as a general dentist, Marcus and his family moved to Bangor, Maine. He completed two years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. Marcus and his wife, Miriam, are the parents of four children.
They enjoy traveling and introducing their children to new cultures. They often joke that though “from away,” Chael, their youngest child is a true Mainer, born at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Marcus is an avid fan of all music that is blue – Blues, Bluegrass, and Blue Seas (Jimmy Buffett).
Quote From The Doctor:
Our family lucked out when my residency training brought us to Maine. When we came here our children were 3, 5, 7, and unborn. In the two years we spent here, we fell in love with the place and the people.
When my residency finished, we thought going back closer to home was the best thing for our family, but we were wrong. After only two years Maine became home to us and our children. We are truly grateful to be back in this community. We look forward to many more summers and winters here at home.
Terrin Porter, DDS

In 2012, Dr. Porter and his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, to complete a hospital-based pediatric dental residency at the Alaska Native Medical Center. He and his wife Angie have a loud, active home life with six children of their own.
